What this site collects
This site is a set of static pages. It has no forms and no accounts, and no comment or search features. We do not ask you for personal data. The only thing this site stores in your browser is your answer to the analytics question described under "Cookies and analytics" below. Server logs are described below.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may keep standard server and firewall logs (for example IP address, requested page, time and browser type) for the security and operation of the site.
- Purpose: to keep the site available and to protect it from abuse.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, available website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Legitimate interest: security and availability. The logs are not used to identify you or to build a profile of you.
- Recipient: our hosting provider, acting as our processor, holds these logs.
- Retention: these logs are kept only for as long as the hosting provider needs them to run and secure the service, in line with its own terms.
- Transfers outside the EU/EEA: none. Our hosting provider is established in the EU.
- Provision: you are not required to give us this data. It is created automatically when you visit the site.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores one thing in your browser: your answer to the analytics question in the banner on the site. That answer is kept in your browser only, for this site.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages are read. The property is G-JW3M6HNJKQ, provided by Google.
It runs only if you accept it. If you reject it, or make no choice, we do not load the analytics script and we send nothing about your visit to Google. There is no tracking that is on by default.
When you accept, Google Analytics collects: a random identifier for your browser, the pages you read, the time of your visit, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and information about your device and browser. It uses cookies (for example _ga) to tell one visit from another.
- Purpose: to measure how many people read which pages, so we can improve them.
- Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Recipient: Google Ireland Limited (the Google group's EU controller). Google Ireland Limited may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States.
- Transfer outside the EU/EEA: yes, to Google LLC in the United States. That transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795). Google LLC is certified under that framework. Where a transfer is not covered by the framework, Google states that it relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Retention: for the period set in the analytics property (Google Analytics keeps event data for a configurable period). We keep no analytics data ourselves.
- Withdrawal: see "Changing your choice" below.
We do not use analytics data to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-party embeds
This site has no video embed today. When a video embed is added to an article, the player is served by YouTube (Google), which may set cookies or collect data under its own policy. That embed is added only after a consent solution for it, and this page is updated with the recipient, the purpose, the legal basis and any transfer.
Changing your choice
Your answer is stored in your browser, for this site only. To change it, use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. The banner appears again, and you can accept or reject again. If you reject after you accepted, the analytics stop when the page reloads.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to have our processing restricted, to object to it, and to receive your data in a portable format. To use any of these rights, write to hh@hhit.dk.
You also have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, https://www.datatilsynet.dk) about how we handle your data.
